The 9.0 version of the beloved instant messaging program is out.

What I like about it:

• the design: very elegant, smooth edges, very nice colours
• Youtube videos are played in the conversation window, so you don’t have to open the browser to see them.
• Pictures are also previewed ( at quite a large scale) in the conversation window so it gives you easier acces to them
• some features are easier to access and it all looks better organized, “cleaner”
• the status bar has 2 sections: one to write the status and one to write the URL of the link you want to show, so if you want to change either one of them, you don’t have to rewrite the entire status again.

What I don’t like about it:

• some buttons have been moved, so it took me a while to get accustomed to it
• the status is not entirely shown if it’s longer that the main window
• the avatar pictures are shown automatically together, you can’t switch only one of them off
• it takes considerably more time to load than the older versions.

Overall, I like it and I was very pleased to come across a pretty, green skin. 😀
