80 things I did in 2009
I read this article by Dragoș Roua and I thought it’s a great idea to make a list of 100 things you’ve done in the past year. More than a general evaluation of the year that’s heading towards the end, we need concrete things to mark our activity and to remind us of all the useful things we’ve managed to do. For me, it was a spectacular year and I plan to make the next one at least just as good!
So, here’s my list (not in chronological order):
1. This year I finished college.
2. I was head of my class, a goal I worked very much to achieve.
3. I got a 10 at my Bachelor’s Degree thesis on “Risk communication in international political events”.
4. I wrote constantly on my blog.
5. I met Diane Pernet and I was deeply touched by her.
6. My article about Diane Pernet was featured on her blog, a fact that literally overwhelmed me.
7. I met Andreea Tănăsescu, a brilliant talent scouter and one of the most amazing persons to ever come into my life.
8. I witnessed the attempt to launch the Romanian suborbital rocket Helen and lived every moment of it intensely.
9. I met the ARCA team and I was deeply impressed by everything they do. A more detailed account of out encounter, here (in Romanian).
10. I started using Twitter heavily and become partially addicted to it. 🙂
11. I made a lot (really, a looot) of friends thank to Twitter and I am extremely happy about this!
12. I joined Bobby‘s team at RevvNation.com, as Head of Involvement – the best job I could have wished for!
13. I saw Avatar, the most expensive movie ever made.
14. I went to Netcamp 2009, as one of the official bloggers. A detalied account of what happened there, here.
15. My friends threw me the best surprise birthday party ever and I have the most wonderful birthday of all times!
16. I got featured in a poll for creating a calendar with pretty Romanian ladies on Twitter.
17. I went to Optimism 2009, organized by Manafu, the fall edition.
18. I went to Optimism 2009, the summer edition. 🙂
19. I went to Lecturi Urbane (urban readings), organized by Adrian Ciubotaru and Civika.
20. I won a prize, with my team, at the Romanian Junior PR Award 2009.
21. I was part of the organizing team for the Romanian PR Week 2009.
22. I moved into my apartment in Bucharest.
23. I finished decorating my apartament. (Big achievement, though it may not seem like it.)
24.I did an intership at F5, the new media division of Realitatea – Catavencu, which I loved.
25. I helped organize Digi Cafe and RoNewMedia.
26. I attended the RoNewMedia conferences and workshops and listened to some great specialists from Google.
27. I interviewed Dragoș Stanca.
28. I interviewed Orlando Nicoară.
29. I went to Webstock ’09.
30. I attended the first PR&AD Fair.
31. I went to CNSC 2009, as communication partners from apPRentice.ro.
32. I attended the Romanian World Blogging Forum.
33. I went to BizCamp.
34. I went to Zilele Biz.
35. I attended the Internetics Gala.
36. I went to my first #tweetmeet (and many more after). 🙂
37. I listened to a great collections of waltzes in the Cotroceni park. More about that beautiful experience, here.
38. The apPRentice.ro girls went to FTW party.
39. I started cooking more.
40. I visited a lot of museums in Bucharest.
41. I rediscovered my love for my home town.
42. I went to The Mission Dance Weekend and I listened to Tiesto and Armin van Buuren again. 😡
43. I went to Maramures, one of Romania’s loveliest regions.
44. I went to a drive-in cinema for the first time (Baneasa Drive-in cinema).
45. I went to Vama Veche for the first (and last) time.
46. I took a trip to Drobeta Turnu Severin-Orsova-Portile de Fies and their wonderful surroundings.
47. I went on a boat trip on the Danube.
48. I had a great graduation day.
49. I kept my friends from college.
50. ApPRentice.ro got 7th place at RoBlogFest!
51. I went to Italy againg.
52. I saw Venice again and fell even more deeply in love with it!
53. I celebrated 1 year of writing on this blog.
54. I ate at a Lebanese restaurant.
55. I entered the Masters program I chose (Faculty of Letters, Communication and Public Relations models).
56. I made a new best friend.
57. I tightened the bonds with a close group of friends.
58. I met Bobby Voicu.
59. I continued to write on apPRentice.ro, a project extremely dear to me.
60. Together with the Romanian PR Week team we launched www.pr-romania.ro, the best romanian PR resource portal,.
61. I continued to work with the pr-romania.ro team, which is very close to my heart.
62. I went to Baia Mare for the first (and hopefully not the last) time.
63. I visited Cluj Napoca again, a lovely city.
64. I got closer to my father, which I adore.
65. I’ve had a great relationship with my mother, who is everything in the world for me.
66. Saw for the first time the Muddy Volcanoes, in Buzău.
67. Went for the first time to Târgu Mureș, a lovely city in the center of Romania.
68. I discovered that my resources of energy are even greater than I thought.
69. I met my favourite bloggers: Bobby, Costin, Manafu and Victor Kapra and I had the chance to work with some of them, which was fantastic!
70. I met Loic Le Meur, the creator of Seesmic Desktop.
71. I read more books this year than any other year. I read 40 only for my Bachelor’s thesis.
72. Spent my first entire summer in Bucharest.
73. Tested my first smartphone: Nokia N97.
74. Drove an SUV for the first time.
75. Drove a car with an automatic gearbox for the first time. (a lot of “firsts” this year, indeed)
76. I acquired a lot of social media knowledge.
77. I’ve learnt from every experience I’ve gone through.
78. This year I’ve defined exactly what I want from myself and from the people around me. I’ve always had clear objectives, but they became more refined and concrete as time pased by.
79. I started to believe more in the fluxes of energy that flow through things and people and I became more sensitive towards them.
80. I met the lovely Ioana Pișcociu and the adorable Lidia Roman, from whom I learned a lot about PR and communication.
Well, it seems I don’t have 100 items to put on this list, but I’m sure there will be enough to complete it next year. The retrospective looks good so far. Let’s hope the ending will be as spectacular as 2009 was.
